With rising energy costs affecting many of us, it’s important to address the pressing issue of fuel poverty in our community.

According to National Energy Action, 27.3% of households in Stoke-on-Trent Central, along with significant numbers in Stafford (16.2%), Staffordshire Moorlands (19.9%), and South Staffordshire (14.8%) are feeling the pinch. But help is here.

Residential Energy Services – Staffordshire’s Source for Energy Advice

At Residential Energy Services (RES), we’re committed to helping you tackle fuel poverty and enhance energy efficiency. We deliver reliable energy advice tailored for Staffordshire residents. Our range of services ensures that you have the tools and information to manage your energy usage effectively.

From helping you understand government initiatives like the Energy Company Obligation to providing actionable tips for making your home more energy-efficient, we’re dedicated to guiding you every step of the way. Our friendly team is actively involved in the community, participating in our mobile energy advice programme to bring our services right to your doorstep.

The Warmer Homes Project – Supporting Families in Staffordshire

The Warmer Homes Project is our flagship activity designed to improve the comfort and warmth of homes across Staffordshire. Launched in partnership with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and Midlands Net Zero Hub, this project stands as a testament to our commitment to social responsibility and community well-being.

Through the Warmer Homes Project, we engage with local communities by participating in events and partnering with organisations like Potteries MoneyWise and Support Staffordshire. This outreach allows us to spread valuable energy-saving information to those who need it the most.

Workplace Energy Advice – Supporting Businesses in Staffordshire with Energy Advice

Also sponsored by The Department of Energy Security & Net Zero and Midlands Net Zero Hub, we also offer our Workplace Energy Advice programme. This programme is designed to provide flexible employee access to energy support, to help improve energy use both at work and at home.

This programme is a fully funded initiative, providing free, flexible access to energy advice in the manufacturing, production and retail sectors, or anywhere a large workforce may struggle to gain access to community advice, due to unsociable shift patterns, or limited access to technology and resources.

The advice service is also tailored to individual businesses and employee work patterns, to eliminate the cost of removing employees from the shop floor. “Drop-in” workshops and consultations, or pop-up services in communal areas are designed to blend seamlessly with the working day.

The programme provides guidance on how to save energy and reduce waste, an overview of energy saving measures such as insulation and air source heat pumps, followed by one to one sessions to check funding eligibility, EPC’s and answer any queries the employee may have on how to make their home more energy efficient.
