The Warmer Homes Project is a community energy advice service being co-delivered by Socially Grown Ltd and Residential Energy Services across Staffordshire and Shropshire. The project is funded by UKGOV via the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) and is managed via the Midlands Net Zero Hub. This Local Energy Advice Demonstrator (LEAD) Programme is one of 36 awarded nationally and one of nine awarded in the Midlands region.

The project is designed to support hard-to-reach communities with energy advice and help those suffering from fuel poverty to access available support. The energy experts will be practically demonstrating how energy-saving measures such as external wall insulation and solar panels work, by providing real examples of the products.

“Our team of energy experts are going to be throughout the whole of Stoke, engaging with communities at community centres, health centres, food banks, anywhere that we feel the most vulnerable, hard to reach and those in fuel poverty are going to be.”

- Sarah Parry on BBC Radio Stoke

The team of energy experts will be supporting individuals to create a home energy plan and consider energy-saving opportunities in the home, as well as check individual eligibility for potential home energy upgrade grants. The project runs from this month until April 2025 and will be seen across the Staffordshire and Shropshire regions, operating out of locations such as community centres, food banks, health and faith centres, delivered by experienced energy experts.

Look out for Residential Energy Services in your area in the coming weeks and months!
